Employee Amputates Fingers in Machine

On July 10, 2007, an employee, who was operating a Haven Cuttinand and Deburring machine, tried to remove an end cut from the feed portion of the conveyor. The employee's hand was caught between the 9-inch by 4-inch diameter steel tube end cut and the conveyor when the end cut got stuck in the archway of the conveyor. The employee's third and fourth fingers were amputated below the fingernails. The employee was hospitalized and treated for amputations.
