Investigation Summary
On March 5, 2007, Employee #1, a sole proprietor owner of a remodeling company, was installing drywall on the interior of a room that was 13.3 ft in height. Employee #1 was preparing an outside corner for a corner bead molding and then joint compound. Employee #1 was working from a 10-ft high aluminum, 1A, stepladder when he fell; landing first on his feet, and then his head struck the linoleum tile floor. Employee #1 was taken to a local hospital and, on March 15, 2007, he passed away. The County coroner's office stated that his death was from a blunt force trauma to the head.
