Employee Is Injured in Fall from Roof

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on August 26, 2008, an employee, a foreman and coworkers started on the job site to tear-off of the roofing materials. The employee was standing near the edge of the three-story Building Number 2 assisting the crew by throwing debris from the roof into a debris truck parked below. The employee fell off the roof and landed on the truck and then onto the ground, suffering serious injury. The employee was not wearing fall protection. The employee was transported to UCSD Medical Center, where he underwent treatment for a multiple facial fractures and arm and hip fractures. He was hospitalized for more than 24 hours.
