Employee Falls and Injures His Shoulder and Wrist

At approximately 12:30 pm, on March 1, 2008 Employee #1 of Trader Joe's was injured when he fell backwards after stepping onto the 1st landing of a rolling stock shelf located in the receiving area of the market. According to Employee #1, he needed to reach a box that was out of his reach so he stepped onto the 1st level of a stock cart and attempted to pull down a box. Due to his weight from standing on the cart shelf, the cart tipped and he pulled several light weight boxes of stock onto himself as he fell backwards. Employee #1 complained of wrist and shoulder pain and was transported to Sharp Hospital in Chula Vista California. Employee #1 was discharged on March 3 2008 with no serious injuries other than soreness.
