Employee Is Injured in Fall from Retaining Wall

At approximately 3:03 p.m. on May 25, 2007, an employee was standing on top of a retaining wall approximately 8-ft high. The wall was located at the eastside of Birch Creek Apartment property behind Unit Number 73 in Mountain View, CA. The employee reached down to pick up tools. While reaching downward, he fell off the wall and landed on the asphalt pavement below, sustaining a head injury. The regional manager for the apartment complex called emergency medical services, and the employee was transported to the Stanford Medical Center by AMR paramedics. The employee was hospitalized for three days and treated for a concussion.
