Employee Crushes Hand While Cleaning Extruding Machine

At approximately 7:00 a.m. on December 17, 2008, Employee #1, a temporary worker who had been working for the employer for about three months was seriously injured while using a rag to clean the rolls on an extruding machine (Welex Inc. Model-4-50, serial number 358.) The Machine was still running and the rag pulled his right hand and arm into the in-running rolls. The incident caused a crushing injury to his right hand and arm which required five surgeries and hospitalization for about three weeks.
