Employee's Hand Is Amputated by Auger

On September 5, 2008, Employee #1, manufacturing wooden pallets, was cutting notches into the wood using a notching machine. The machine was "on" when one of the two hoses, dust collection, to the machine come loose. He was reconnecting a hose, when his left hand came in contact with the auger. Employee #1 was hospitalized with an amputated hand.
