Employee Is Injured in Fall

At approximately 2:15 a.m. on August 27, 2008, an employee was working at the edge of the concrete slab, located in front of the 4-foot high barricade. The employee was tied off to an armored cable attached to the barricade via a lanyard. He wanted to go to the other side of the concrete slab across a plaza post, column. Without using an aerial basket, the employee unhooked the lanyard and climbed up the barricade top. When he tried to jump over to the other side, across the post, barricade top, the barricade collapsed, causing him to fall over the unprotected side to the floor below resulting in multiple unspecified injuries. The employee was hospitalized and treated for fractures hip and head injuries.
