Investigation Summary
At approximately 3:00 p.m. on November 6, 2007, an employee was holding down the stock to feed into resaw, Unit 15. He noticed that the stock was not staying flat at the in-fed of the conveyor. He went closer to the point of operation and held down the stock as it was feeding and his left ring finger was caught by the nip point between the roller of the resaw and the side of 2-in. by 3-in.wood stock. The employee's left ring finger was amputated. A manager transported the employee to the Central Occupational Medicine Provider an Industrial clinic in Riverside and the doctor treated and released him later that day.
