Employee Fractures Leg in Fall from Wall

At approximately 12:15 p.m. on May 24, 2007, Employee #1 was installing bracket scaffolding on a residential home while standing on a top plate (6-in. wide, 19-ft 3-in. above the ground level). Employee #1 had installed 14 brackets before the accident. After installing one bracket, Employee #1 tried to move a stack of trusses. Employee #1's left foot slipped and he lost his balance. Employee #1 fell onto the concrete floor inside the house (living room area). Employee #1 hit a 2-in. by 4-in. brace (approximately 4-ft above the ground level) during the fall and then fell on to the ground. Employee #1 sustained multiple fractures on his lower right leg which required surgery and hospitalization for two days.
