Employee Fractures Neck in Fall from Second Level

On March 31, 2008, Employee #1, a mechanic, was located on the second level of a palletizer performing maintenance. He was kneeling down next to a floor opening, working on the in-feed rollers of the machine. As he leaned up, his right foot slipped and Employee #1 fell approximately 7 feet to the ground. Employee #1 was taken to a nearby medical facility, where he was hospitalized and treated for a fractured neck.
