Employee's Finger Is Amputated by Star Valve

On June 7, 2008, Employee #1, a mechanic, was assisting other employees in replacing a pipe on the curd belt, when a rubber gasket was sucked into the star valve. As Employee #1 quickly reached in to retrieve the gasket, his left hand index and middle fingers made contact with the star valve, resulting in partial finger tip amputation.
