Employee Sustains Lacerations When Caught in Scissors

On April 25, 2007, Employee #1 was connecting a Jarvis pneumatic scissor cutter to the air line. Employee #1 held the pneumatic cutter in his right hand with the trigger depressed, while his left hand pushed the pneumatic hose into the quick-connect fitting. When the hose became connected, the jaws of the pneumatic scissors closed, resulting in the laceration of Employee #1's left forearm. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
