Employee Injures Hand When Glove Is Caught in Roller

On February 20, 2007, Employee #1 was operating a Wysong Bending Roll. Employee #1 was attempting to bend a 10-in. by 11-in piece of sheet metal. As the sheet metal started to roll through the machine, Employee #1 tapped the end of the sheet metal to prevent it from cocking up at an angle. As the piece of sheet metal entered the machine, Employee #1's oversized glove on his left hand became entangled in the running rollers and his hand was drawn into the point of operation between the upper and the lower rollers. Employee #1 was hospitalized and treated for his injuries.
