Employee Is Killed in Fall from Skylight

On June 15, 2007, an employee was assisting in the removal of glass block skylight panels that were approximately 62-in. by 50-in. and weighed approximately 300 lbs. The employee was standing on the acoustical metal panel that was installed beneath the skylights facing the gymnasium below. The panel gave way, and the employee fell approximately 30 feet to the floor below. The employee was transported to the hospital, where he later died from blunt force trauma to the torso.
