Employee Is Struck by Granite Slab and Killed

At approximately 2:25 p.m. on December 6, 2006, Employee #1 and a coworker were moving a granite slab from an outside storage area. The slab, weighing approximately 900-1000 pounds, was leaned on an "A" frame rack in a vertical position. Employee #1 was holding the slab in the upright position, while the coworker accessed a forklift to move the slab. The granite slab fell on the employee, causing a crushing injury and a massive head trauma. Employee #1 was killed.
