Employee Is Injured When Pinned Between Desk and Truck

At approximately 11:40 a.m. on November 5, 2007, an employee was driving an electric stand-up forklift truck in a warehouse and stopped five feet from an unoccupied desk. The employee stepped out from the back of the truck and his right arm accidently hit the lever that caused the back of the truck to back into the desk. According to a coworker, the forklift driver was able to get his foot down but then he stepped back up. The employee was pinned between the desk and the truck. He had a puncture wound to the left calf of his leg and was hospitalized just over 25 hours. The stand-up forklift had the following identification: Rental Toyota 7BU18, Serial Number 32649, Maximum Capacity 3,500 lbs.
