Investigation Nr: 200531101
Event: 09/06/2006
Employee's Foot Is Amputated by Cable

Employee #1 was hooking the railroad car to the "Car Puller" when the cable became twisted. Employee #1 came out from behind a mesh wall where the controls were, and began kicking the cable to try and untwist it. The cable wrapped around Employee #1's left foot and began to tighten as he could not reach the controls to stop the machine. This resulted in the amputation of the Employee #1's left foot.
