Event: 01/02/2008
Employee's Fingers Caught by Guard and Amputated by Saw

On January 2, 2008, Employee #1, a ten inch saw operator, used both of his hands to press an aluminum block against the back gauge of the saw to prevent this block from rolling off of the end of the machine. While the employee fed this metal block into the cutting area, the aluminum support rib for the saw's point of operation guard caught the employee's right pinky finger and ring finger.
