Employee Fractures Foot in Fall from Roof

On January 11, 2007, Employee #1 was instructed by his supervisor to inspect a roof. As he was inspecting the roof, Employee #1 slipped on an area of the roof that was coated with frost and fell approximately 8 feet to a concrete patio. Employee #1 was taken to Washington hospital in Fremont, CA, where he was hospitalized and treated for a fractured heel on his right foot. The accident investigation revealed that Employee #1 was not wearing a safety harness or any other form of fall protection while performing the roof inspection.
