Employee Amputates Finger in Machine

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on February 15, 2007, an employee was working as machine operator on the cold heading Machine Number HCH4. The employee tried to untangle the wire stock material that was fed to the machine. While doing so, the left ring finger got caught in the coil, with the machine running and the stock feeding, crushed the finger with enormous pressure. The employee was taken to the W Anaheim Hospital and the finger was amputated. The employee was treated and released from the hospital after about six hours.
