Employee Fractures Leg in Fall from Second Level Home

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on February 24, 2006, Employee #1 was working in a second story room of a home under construction. He was clearing an area and slipped and lost his balance. He reached out for the guard rail and lower part of the newly installed window opening. He fell against the railing, which gave way under his weight, sending him through the window opening to the ground, approximately 12.5 ft. He landed on pieces of lumber that gave way. He sustained a fractured right femur and two fractures to the lower right leg, plus approximately six puncture wounds to his left leg. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
