Investigation Summary
On May 31, 2006, Employee #1 was with a road crew installing metal guardrails to shoulder of rural road. He was directing traffic, while standing on the road shoulder, when an automobile swerved onto the shoulder and struck him. He sustained a concussion and was killed. Employee #1 was wearing a reflective orange vest. Two orange traffic cones were set up next to him, and he was also using a paddle sign.
