Investigation Nr: 200355295
Event: 03/14/2006
Employee Is Injured in Fall from Ladder

On March 14, 2006, an employee was cleaning the horizontal surfaces in a newly constructed press pit. He was responsible for removing concrete splatter and dust in preparation for the layout of lines for drilling anchors. The employee used a 24-ft extension ladder to reach a level that was 11.7 ft above the floor. After the employee completed his job, he descended the ladder. While descending, the ladder footing slipped on the smooth concrete floor. The employee fell approximately 14 ft and suffered from muscle strains to his neck and back. The employee did not require hospitalization.
