Event: 10/23/2006
Employee Is Injured in Fall from Roof

At approximately 8:00 a.m. on October 23, 2006, Employee #1 was installing corrugated roofing material to the roof deck of an existing barn. He was standing near the peak of the roof and was instructed to stay on the South side of the roof which had previously been sheathed. He crossed over to the North side of the roof and stepped on the metal roof which had a layer of frost. He slid from the peak to the eaves edge and fell approximately 22 ft to the lower level. No fall protection system was in use on the North side of the roof structure. Employee #1 sustained a crushed heel and lacerations to his arm and was hospitalized.
