Employee Is Crushed and Killed by Falling Trailer Ramp

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on October 25, 2006, an employee, a truck driver, wanted to remove chains from the lowboy trailer and place them behind the cab. He maneuvered the truck along side the lowboy, which was not attached to the truck. While the employee was pulling down the ramp of the lowboy, he either tripped or stumbled and the 125 lbs ramp fell and pinned his legs to the ground. The employee was unable to lift or crawl out from under the ramp. The employee sustained bilateral fibular fractures. The employee was killed.
