Printing Press Operator Is Killed When Caught in Press

On August 31, 2005, Employee #1 was working at a commercial printing operation in Alexandria, VA. He and a coworker were operating a five-color printing press. They had run a 5,000-page job and were preparing to run another. Employee #1 was operating the feeder, which loads and feeds paper into the press. As he was loading a stack of paper into the feeder, his head became wedged between the paper stack and the feeder head. He was killed.
