Employee Fractures Back in Fall from Truck

On March 9, 2006, Employee #1 was preparing a ladder truck with a basket, to access the roof of a Woodland Unified School District building. With the truck parked in position, the employee climbed onto the truck and walked on the ladder that was still in a horizontal position. When he reached the basket, he released the latch that allowed the basket to flip into position. He was injured, when the basket flipped into position and knocked him off the truck. He was hospitalized for four days at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for an unspecified back fracture.
