Employee's Finger Is Amputated While Using Meat Saw

On October 17, 2005, Employee #1, with the meat department of Demoulas Market Basket, Inc., was cutting a meat bone with a Hobart Band Saw. The saw's blade guard was in its full upright position. One of his right fingers was amputated, and he was hospitalized for treatment.
