Event: 06/07/2005
Two Employees Are Injured When Fire Door Falls

On June 7, 2005, Employees #1 and #2 were warehouse workers performing a non-routine task of placing feet on wood bed frames in the spray finishing department of a furniture manufacturing facility. They were in an area where a large metal fire door was stored against a wall. Either Employee #1 or Employee #2 removed a barrel containing bed parts from close proximity of the door. The door fell, striking them. They sustained strains to their arms and shoulders, lacerations of the abdomen, and acute contusions to their shoulders. Employees #1 and #2 were treated at and released from a local hospital that day. They were not hospitalized.
