Employee Fractures Foot in Fall from Roof

On May 31, 2005, Employee #1 climbed to a porch roof of a house to inspect a window seal that had been previously painted. The coworkers who had painted the window seal used the porch roof as their working surface. Employee #1 said that as he stepped from the metal extension ladder onto the roof, he slipped on the wet surface of the metal roof and he fell 9 ft and 3 in. to the compacted soil and concrete ground. He suffered a broken foot and was hospitalized. Employee #1 and his coworkers stated that the roof was wet with rain and condensation from the night before.
