Employee Is Struck and Injured by Forklift

On October 5, 2005, Employee #1 was beginning his shift at trim saw and re-saw areas of the saw mill. Employee #1 went to the trim saw where he was not needed and then went across the driveway to see if he was needed in the "re-saw" area. Employee #1 was not needed at that work station area and went to cross the driveway towards the trimmer saws. As Employee #1 stepped into the driveway, he was struck by a forklift carrying a lumber scrap dump box. Employee #1 was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for multiple fractures and was hospitalized.
