Employee Amputates Finger Assembling Equipment

At approximately 10:00 a.m., Employee #1 began helping a coworker assemble equipment. The coworker had never assembled the equipment and Employee #1 had previously held this job six to ten years ago. Employee #1 had forgotten how to build the part. While trying to assemble the equipment a rod slipped out of Employee #1's grip and smashed his right index finger tip amputating the tip, including bone. Employee #1 was treated for his injury but was not hospitalized.
