Employee Is Electrocuted When Contacting Live Part

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on August 10, 2004, Employee #1 and a coworker were operating a Pendu line pallet cutting machine in the sawmill. During the operation, the Cornell Pallet Gang Sizer malfunctioned. Employee #1 was attempting to adjust wiring inside an uncovered electrical control box and reset a switch without the equipment being locked out. He contacted an energized electrical component within the control box, electrocuting himself.
