Three employees in kiln suffer carbon monoxide poisoning

Employees #1, #2, and #3 were working in a kiln that was heated by steam from a direct-fired boiler that vented its combustion products with the steam it generated when they were overcome by carbon monoxide. One employee lost consciousness, one employee became disoriented, and all three were hospitalized and received oxygen and hyperbaric treatment.
