Employee Fractures Ankle When Sheets of Granite Fall on Him

At approximately 9:20 a.m. on December 4, 2006, Employee #1 was working for Mastercraft Kitchens, Inc., a manufacturer of kitchen cabinets and counter tops, in Palm Springs, CA. Approximately fifteen sheets of granite weighing 275 pounds each fell on Employee #1 as he attempted to prevent them from falling. The Palm Springs Fire Department responded. Employee #1 sustained a fracture to his right ankle, and he was hospitalized.
