Employee Fractures Back after Slipping on Roof and Falling

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on August 4, 2006, Employee #1 was working as a roofer for a contractor building single-family homes. His employer was an owner and a builder as well. The firm had six employees. At the time of the accident, Employee #1 was working on a roof 18 feet above ground level. He slipped on a loose 2-by-4 and fell to the dirt ground. He sustained a fracture to his back and spine and was hospitalized for five days.
