Employee Is Injured in Fall Through Skylight

At approximately 4:50 p.m. on September 18, 2006, an employee of Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa was instructed to go to the Lobby Court to fix a curtain. The Lobby Court is located in the lobby of the hotel. The skylight is surrounded by railings. The employee crossed over the railing to assess what was wrong with the hanging curtain. He fell 9 feet 11 inches through the plexi-glass skylight. He was hospitalized and treated for multiple injuries, including fracture.
