Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202354569
Event: 05/14/2004
Employee Suffers Concussion In Fall

Employee #1, the part owner of a heating and air conditioning company, was lowering himself down a vertical wall from the roof of a condominium building under construction. Due to the unconventional construction of the walls of this building, ladders and scaffolding could not be used to reach HVAC vent piping to install vent covers on them. Employee #1 was also a professional tree trimmer, and decided to use his climbing gear to do this job. Employee #1 accidentally unloosened the line supporting him and fell approximately 8 ft to the ground, suffering ankle and head injuries. Employee #1 was treated for his injuries but was not hospitalized.
