Employee fractures vertebrae after falling from roof

On April 9, 2004, Employee #1, a carpenter, was sheeting and nailing a roof when he fell 20 ft to 25 ft. The employee was wearing a fall arrest harness with lanyard attachment for connection to an anchored lifeline with rope-grab but, at the time of the accident, he was disconnected from the life line. He was found on the ground after the fall, wearing his fall arrest harness. Employee #1 sustained fractures to his L4 and L5 vertebrae and was hospitalized five days.
