Employee Is Injured Hand Feeding a Bar Straightener

On November 29, 2004, Employee #1 was feeding a bar into a 1923 Medart two roll straightening machine when his clothing became entangled on the rotating bar. Employee #1 was pulled into the machine and sustained severe injuries to his lower body. Employee #1 was hospitalized and treated for his injuries. The straightening machine was not equipped with guards to protect employees from injury.
