Investigation Summary
On September 27, 2007, Employee #1, of RH Tech and Construction, Inc., was working at a home addition project in Monterey Park, CA. He was using a table saw to rip cut 14 in. pieces of wood for fire blocks to be used for framing. While cutting the wood, Employee #1 sustained lacerations, fractures, and obliterated tendons on his left hand. He had not been provided with combs, suitable jigs, or kickback devices. At the time of the accident, Employee #1 had four months of experience with the company.
