Employee killed in fall from steel beam

Employee #1 was standing on a steel beam about 7.33 feet from the floor checking the part number on a two-way switch in an air line. The employee had apparently accessed the beam by climbing up on pallet of sand bags. Employee #1 was dead when found on the bottom of a conveyor ramp approximately 4 ft west from where he had been standing on the beam and about 4 foot below the floor. The conveyor slopes down below the floor. The employee fell approximately 11 ft from the beam. There were no witnesses.
