Employee's Finger Is Amputated in Conveyor

At approximately 5:45 a.m. on March 29, 2007, an employee was moving a conveyor into place. After sanitizing the equipment the employee and Coworkers #1 and #2 were in the process of returning a conveyor back to its position for production. While guiding the conveyor into position, the employee's fingers became caught and subsequently amputated when it became caught between metal components of the conveyor as the conveyor bumped into a stationary object. The employee sustained an amputation to the first joint of the left hand small finger and was treated at Queen of the Valley Hospital, where he stayed approximately 12 hours.
