Event: 10/26/2006
Employee Is Burned in Slip on Hot Oil

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on October 26, 2006, an employee was heading back to his work area, where oil is off-loaded from delivery tanker trucks into underground storage tanks. He noticed the oil had over flown from the underground tanks and was spilling onto the grounds. While attempting to shut the flow valves off, the employee slipped and fell on the 200-300 degree Fahrenheit oil spillage on the ground. He fell on the left side of his body and completely submerged his left hand and partially his right hand. He received second degree burns and was treated at Intercommunity Hospital and was released after one hour and forty minutes.
