Employee Is Injured in Fall from Roof

On February 13, 2006, Employee #1 and a coworker were framing the roof of a building under construction. Both Employee #1 and the coworker were located on the roof of the building, which was approximately 14.3 feet above the ground. As Employee #1 handed the coworker a 2 inch by 6 inch piece of plywood for a roof rafter, he fell to the ground. Employee #1 was taken to UCI Medical Center, where he was hospitalized and treated for chest, face, left arm, lower back, and mid back injuries. The accident investigation revealed that Employee #1 was not wearing any fall protection.
