Employee Amputates Finger While Using Power Saw

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on November 16, 2004, Employee #1 was operating a power table saw at a construction jobsite. Employee #1 was cutting a small piece of aluminum channel with the saw. The piece jerked forward, causing Employee #1's right thumb to contact the spinning blade. Employee #1 received a deep laceration and ultimately lost the tip of the finger. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
