Employee Is Injured When Face and Hands Burned by Arc Flash

On July 16, 2003, Employee #1 was taking amperage readings using an insulated amp meter inside of a energized 480 VAC power distribution box on a manufactured crane when he made metal-to-metal contact between the amp meter and the box, causing it to short and creating a electrical arc flash that resulted in Employee #1 receiving burns to his face, hands, and causing him to fall approximately 4.5 inches to a concrete surface.
