Employee Is Struck by Falling Box and Sustains Fractured Rib

At approximately 10:45 p.m. on February 24, 2007, Employee #1 was straightening a box on a shelf that is 72-in. high. As Employee #1 walked away, the box fell off the shelf and struck her on the upper right chest area as she tried to catch it. On March 14, 2007, Employee #1 was taken to the emergency room and diagnosed with a cracked rib that had punctured her lung. Surgery was performed and Employee #1 was hospitalized for nine days.
