Employee Is Injured in Fall from Roof

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on July 24, 2006, Employee #1 was a roofer and was brushing mastic onto a roof. He reached over the eave to retrieve a sheet. He was injured when he reached too far and fell 20 ft onto a mini-storage unit where he lost consciousness. He was hospitalized at KMC Bakersfield Hospital, for a broken wrist and a possible heat related illness. The temperature in the Tehachapi area was above 108 degrees and the humidity was 47 percent.
